United States of Tara (2009 - 2011)
I recently posted these excerpts from the second season. In the premiere of the third, we see two of those doom cakes revisited — Kate’s career as an internet provocateur comes back to haunt her, and Charmaine’s sad wedding cake remnants get trotted out in an especially doomy way. There’s also a scene (not included above) where Tara and Charmaine order childbirth-themed cupcakes from a transwoman for Charmaine’s baby shower (which only a handful of people end up RSVP’ing for, and which becomes redundant anyway for spoilery reasons which I won’t divulge).
